Everyone knows someone who has to do 'one-upmanship'. Those people have a need to run faster, talk louder and even sing louder as if in a competition. That recently happened to me again with a rug hooker. Oh, bet that grabbed your attention, didn't it.
A hooker friend and I had a 'back and forth' a few days ago and I was sure it was over because at the end of our communication I said ...."The fat lady already sang".
But seems Lauren (Rugs and Pugs) had to sing LOUDER and LAST because in my mail was a package. Inside was this beautiful paisley pouch. Lauren makes them and calls them 'hook pouches' but it is beautiful and plan to use it for jewelry I'm taking to camp. You can tell a good seamstress when the design, plaid, etc. is balanced.
It is beautifully lined with wool and the snaps are precisely attached. But I don't want to stroke her ego too much for singing the 'last word song' so will move along.....

This was too funny !!! Lauren 's hook purse is beautiful ! And the Hooker pendant is Great ! But the Olive fork was the frosting on the cake !!! What a great gift !!! Just be careful with that sharp end !!!

ReplyDeleteLauren sure knows how to (handle ) her friends. The hooker pendant is really beautiful as is the hook purse but I think she got you good with the pickle fork. I can read some malicious humour in that fork. hehehe. Yeah, it would be hard to be friend with her if she wasn't so generous don't you think? Lauren will probably gain notoriety at your rug camp.

ReplyDeleteThat fork is technically a "loop lifter" but I know you don't need that, so pickle/olive fork will work. I think most people buy one for the laugh.

She who laughs last, laughs best. LOL. Love it. Lauren is incorrigible. But that's one of the reasons she is so well-loved, no? That pouch is exquisite. I am fortunate enough to have one of her paisley pouches myself...and it is almost too pretty to use for its intended purpose. I like your idea of using it as a jewelry pouch...but since I never travel farther than down the road to hook, I use it for it's intended purpose and love every minute of it. When it's "off duty," it's displayed. I also have one of her loop lifters. I remember when I had Lauren send it back with Cathy...Cathy was so very puzzled LOL. ~Robin~
