Lawren Harris painting goes for record $11.2 million

Auction house estimated Harris 1926 oil canvas painting “Mountain Forms” would go for $3-$5 million.

The Lawren Harris painting Mountain Forms smashed a Canadian art record in Toronto on Wednesday night by selling for just over $11.2 million, more than double the previous record set in 2002.

Heffel Fine Art Auction House had estimated the 1926 oil canvas could fetch between $3 million and $5 million.
