Jessica Alba Just Praised a Number of Latina Actresses & We’re Totally Here for This Women-Empowering-Women Moment

Since Sept 15, Latinos and non-Latinos alike have been celebrating this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month. So, to celebrate the occasion, Jessica Alba, who has been open about her Mexican heritage pride in the past, decided to share the love by showing her appreciation to fellow Latin actresses.

#WomanCrushWednesday – featuring a group of incredible actresses 🎬 that keep our entire community inspired and motivated with everything they do,” Alba wrote in the caption of the Instagram gallery. In the gallery, Alba posted a series of pictures of fellow Latina actresses including Brazilian actress and Blue Beetle star Bruna Marquezina, Rare Beauty founder Selena Gomez, West Side Story stars Rachel Zegler and Ariana DeBose, On My Block star Jessica Marie Garcia, Ana de Armas, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria and Sofía Vergara. Talk about an impressive lineup!

“These women are representing their heritage and showing so many little girls 👧🏽👧🏻👧🏾 out there that anything is possible – no matter where you come from 💭💫,” Alba continued. “They are breaking down barriers and changing the narrative in our industry, while pushing the doors🚪 wide open to make space for others to join us 👊🏽 On top of it, they’re the best in the game at storytelling and captivating the audience with their on-screen (and behind the camera 📽️) performances 🎞️🎥🍿.”

Alba’s incredible appreciation post continued, adding that she’s “so excited to continue following each of these women and their journeys.”

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that energetically, you have to stand in your truth and do your best to not allow people to tear you down – especially when you are actually part of the solution toward the greater good,” Alba continued. “So thank you to these #Latina powerhouses for your hustle and for representing so many 🙏🏽 As you create content that represents our culture in a more accurate, dignified and aspirational way, you’re making many feel seen and heard like they might’ve never before 🙏🏽🤍 Besos 😘.”

In the comments, some of the mentioned actresses thanked Alba for the shoutout and reciprocated the love. “You truly are our woman crush everyday ❤️,” Zegler wrote. “Thank you for being a gorgeous guiding light for so many of your primas like me :).” Only Murders in the Building star Gomez also shared the love by commenting with a solo red heart emoji.

“What an absolute honor to be listed next to these incredible powerhouse Latinas!!!! 😍✨” commented Garcia. “Gracias @jessicaalba for continuously being there and championing me. You’ve always been an inspiration to me and I have to pinch myself you even know who I am!! 🫶🤣🥹😍”

Longoria, for her part, kept her appreciation short and sweet. “Right back at ya Alba! ❤️” the Flamin’ Hot director wrote. “You’re an inspiration mujer ❤️,” wrote DeBose.

In addition to some of the mentioned stars, Alba’s fans also showed their support. “My childhood crush posting all my other childhood crushes,” one user hilariously commented. “Que vivan las mujeres latinas!” “These women are my Roman Empire,” wrote another.
