One of Vancouver’s most picturesque’s outdoor pools is ready to make a splash.

On Friday, the Vancouver park board announced the popular Kitsilano pool will open on June 4, Sunday.

Repairs are underway and near completion.

Crews had to fill in cracks and test the mechanical systems after the pool was damaged from a January 2022 storm. Due to the cool, wet spring and a need for at least 10 consecutive days of dry and warm weather for the repairs to cure and set, repairs were delayed until late April.

Kits pool, the city’s only saltwater pool, will be available for 2 1/2-hour sessions throughout the day.

The park board expects demand to be high, and recommend pool-users register online through Showpass . Swim slots can be booked starting 12 p.m. three days ahead. Drop-ins are available, but admission is not guaranteed.

New Brighton and Second Beach pools are already open. Maple Grove and Hillcrest pools are set to open June 15.
