Origin: I bought my Moped new during gas crisis of the '70s and trucked it all over New England in the back of a band equipment truck. Purchased from a bike shop next door to a rock & roll gig in New York City on 14th Street. "Commuted" to New Paltz from Modena and would moped around towns at rock & roll gigs "for fun back in the day"

Special features: Rare first year - 2 HP Puch Moped will cruise at 35 mph.

Favorite place to cruise: River Road in Wallkill, Springtown in New Paltz, anywhere along the north-flowing Wallkill River.

Dream car: Allstate "Twingle" motorcycle

Value: Twice purchase price (at $600)

Other ride: '’71 Honda SL 70

What bugs you about other drivers? A Moped in traffic is ignored.

Bad experiences: I got pulled over for speeding once.
