• Joan Collins responded to Jane Seymour’s recent comments about plastic surgery in Hollywood.
  • In an interview, Seymour said her lack of cosmetic procedures is now “unusual” in the industry, but Collins disagrees.
  • “I am another #actress in #hollywood who hasn’t had any ‘work’ done @janeseymour - there’s many of us!” Collins wrote on Instagram.

Actress Joan Collins, now 90, appeared to be offended by Jane Seymour’s comments about the prevalence of plastic surgery in Hollywood. In an interview with the Daily Express, Seymour, now 72 years old, shared why she has foregone cosmetic procedures, adding that it’s become “unusualfor actresses to go all-natural like she has. Collins, on the other hand, disagrees.

In a recent Instagram post appearing to shade her Glow & Darkness co-star, Collins shared her side. “I am another #actress in #hollywood who hasn’t had any ‘work’ done @janeseymour - there’s many of us!” she wrote, tagging the Daily Express. In the photo, the Dynasty star smiles proudly, wearing a bedazzled top. Seymour hasn’t provided a public response, but plenty of others flooded Collins in support.

“You are beautiful inside and out @joancollinsdbe stunning 💯,” one person commented. “It’s better to be real than to be perfect‼️❣️💯🙌🏻,” another added. “Beautiful beautiful beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” someone else wrote.

Seymour has spoken in depth and often about her resistance to plastic surgery and the like, and she always gives a similar explanation—she wants her face to be able to properly emote, on and off-screen. “I felt as an actress, I needed to have all the moving parts moving. And I’m at the point in life where it’s not all about looking perfect—it’s about playing a character,” she told the Express.

She then called herself “unusual in Hollywood in not having work done,” adding: “I only know one other actress who hasn’t had it—though she might have it now!”

In a recent interview with Prevention, Seymour shared a similar sentiment. “I have not done facelifts or all of those things and fillers just because honestly I don’t think I’ve ever worked as much as I have right now,” she said. “And I am being able to be authentic, and I think being as authentic as you can be as an actress is really important. You need a face that moves.”

Instead of focusing on quick fixes, Seymour would much rather tend to herself in the form of a balanced diet, pilates workouts, and Crepe Erase skincare; a brand she’s been in partnership with for over a year.

“A lot of people think they need to spend a fortune on treatments and do radical things when actually it’s about getting rid of the dead skin cells and boosting the skin that we have and really plumping and firming,” she previously told Prevention. “These ingredients we have in Crépe Erase seem to really work so I'm sticking to what works for me.”

“I use it every day,” she added.

Plastic surgery or not, both Seymour and Collins are aging in ways that make them feel their best, and that’s what matters.
