Emoji caption? Check. Hashtag? Check. Kate Beckinsale is already proving to be a pro on Instagram.
The English actress joined the photo-sharing app Tuesday afternoon, posting a selfie (the rite of passage on social media, after all) with the “I got Instagram” phrase written across the palm of her hand. She also captioned the image with the waving-hand emoji. So far the post has garnered more than 900 likes, but it wouldn’t surprise us if that number continued to grow overnight.
With Beckinsale’s latest film, Love & Friendship, releasing this Friday, the 42-old-year star couldn’t have found a better time to join the popular social media platform. Fans are thrilled about her online presence, too.

“GODDESS!! …thank god you made it on insta Kate. Welcome aboard,” wrote one follower. Another user even encouraged her to post often, writing, “Don’t be shy Kate. Post frequently.”
Beckinsale seems to be listening because not long after she posted her first Insta, she posted another image — a group selfie with actor Brendan Scannell and makeup artist Adam Breuchaud — with the hashtag #WeDemBoyz.
