Catherine Oxenberg Reveals Her Bulimia Hell

Former Dynasty star-turned-reality TV royalty Catherine Oxenberg has revealed
her days on the hit soap were dogged by bouts of bulimia.

The 43-year-old actress, who is the daughter of Princess Elizabeth of
Yugoslavia and a distant relative of Britain’s royal family, admits her 20-year
eating disorder battle was “the toughest struggle of my life”.

She confides, “I really thought I would never get through it. I’d put myself
in rehab and I would be fine for nine months and then I’d blow it again.

“The demoralization of living with an addiction is just horrendous. Every morning you’d wake up and say, ‘God, please be the day that this is lifted,’ and again eating and throwing up.” Oxenberg reveals her worst days came when she found herself vomiting after every meal.

The actress, who kicked off new reality TV show I Married a Princess with her
movie star husband Casper Van Dien April 18, also states
her bulimia had massive physical repercussions on her body.

She says, “I destroyed my teeth because you’re vomiting hydrochloric acid so
that acid eats away at the enamel in your teeth, so I’ve had horrendous
problems with my teeth.

“When I went into rehab I was like down to 94 pounds.”

Oxenberg finally found the strength to beat bulimia when her inner-self told
her she was going to die if she didn’t change her eating habits.
