'Who has more fun?': Dame Joan Collins, 89, dons a blonde wig as she ditches her brunette locks while transforming into her American Horror Story character

Dame Joan Collins ditched her brunette locks on Thursday as she donned a silvery blonde wig while transforming into an American Horror Story character.

The actress, 89, played brunette Evie Gallant in the show but her character was murdered by her grandson. Now she returns in a new role as white-haired witch Bubbles McGee.

In the left photo, Joan wore a white T-shirt, while opting for a bold blush makeup look with a pink lip as she showed off the new hairstyle.

In the photo on the right, the star cut a glamorous figure in a dazzling gown and gloves while rocking her natural brunette tresses.

The post consisted of the two pictures side by side and Joan asked: 'Who has more fun? Blondes or Brunettes?'

Having made her debut as self-centred Evie Gallant at the start of American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Joan didn't make it past episode three after she was 'accidentally' stabbed to death by her grandson.

And while fans were sad to see her come-and-go so speedily, they were relieved when the British star cropped up again in the seventh episode of a later season.

While returning from beyond the grave isn't an uncommon occurrence in AHS, nor is unheard of for the stars of the show to play more than one character; and Joan cropped up as new character Bubbles McGee in the episode entitled Traitor.

Bubbles, a witch, possessed the power of reading the thoughts and 'souls' of others, and was involved in an important plot revelation for the season, concerning the planned assassination of the witches of Cordelia Goode's [Sarah Paulson] coven.

But one scene in particular stood out - with Bubbles acting in a film called A Christmas To Dismember, in which she cuts open her on-screen husband's stomach and removes his intestines after he presents her with flat shoes as a festive gift [which was a nod to her 1972 film Tales From The Crypt].

It comes after her representative confirmed she's currently 'recovering and doing fine' after suffering from a pinched nerve in her leg last month.

Dame Joan suffered from a pinched nerve in her leg last month.

She was 'airlifted' to Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco but is now 'back home in St. Tropez and is walking around,' as reported by Page Six.

A rep for Joan confirmed the news, adding that the 'pain has been excruciating but fortunately she's dealt with it, and she's OK now.'

She is 'enjoying the rest of her holiday' in St. Tropez' as she recovers, but pinched nerves are 'brutal' and 'the most painful thing.'

Despite the pain and recovery time, the famously stylish star's rep insisted that 'this will not inhibit her fashion whatsoever' and that it's 'fine' for her to wear heels.

A pinched nerve occurs when 'too much pressure is applied to a nerve by surrounding tissues, such as bones, cartilage, muscles or tendons,' as per the Mayo Clinic.

This pressure can lead to intense pain, along with tingling, numbness and/or overall weakness.

Though rest is the most common way to heal a pinched nerve, more serious cases may require surgery to relieve the pain.

The Dynasty star revealed her health ordeal to her 278,000 Instagram followers  in July while sharing a snap of herself posing on a yacht during her St. Tropez holiday.

'Enjoying a great day out, one week before I had to go to the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco for a trapped nerve in my leg,' captioned the UK native.

Though the pinched nerve was less than ideal, she was grateful for the hospital staff's care. Joan concluded: 'Not fun! But they were great!'
