After the immense success of the Hulu and Disney+ series, Pam & Tommy, in which Lily James portrays Pamela Anderson in the aftermath of the infamous leaked sex tape, a huge influx of new and younger fans have become obsessed with the former Playboy star. And it's not hard to see why.
Beautiful, confident, fierce, and unapologetically herself, Pamela Anderson was the OG model and actress who paved the way for future icons, like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.
But as she refused to speak to Lily James after she reached out to her, and according to a source, would not even be watching the series, it begs the question, what actually is Pamela Anderson doing now?
First, let's recap: after marrying Mötley Crue's Tommy Lee after only 96 hours of knowing each other, Ms Anderson has since remarried and divorced four times.
Her first marriage after Tommy was to Kid Rock in 2006, but the pair divorced in the same year. Her next marriage was to poker player Rick Salomon, who she married once in 2007 and then again in 2014. Then in 2020, it was reported that she had ended her relationship with hairstylist-turned-producer Jon Peters, who she married in an unofficial ceremony.
But her most recent husband (the pair only recently filed for divorce in January this year) is Dan Hayhurts, who was her full-time security guard, and the pair got hitched on Christmas Eve 2020. However, before their wedding, (and according to The Sun) sources said that the 54-year-old and Dan had "become an item" in lockdown, and that friends had branded their romance as "the pandemic's sexiest tryst."
These days, she resides in Canada in the home she shared with Dan pre-divorce, (which ICYMI, is where Pamela is actually from) and it seems she's decided to permanently return to her roots. The home in question is on Vancouver Island, and is currently being renovated for an upcoming HGTV show. Exciting!
The former Baywatch star is no longer on Instagram, or any social media at all. Signing off last year, her last caption read: “This will be my last post on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. I’ve never been interested in social media. And now that I'm settled into the life I'm genuinely inspired by reading and being in nature. I am free.”
Besides gearing up for the HGTV show, Pamela has dived head first into her philanthropy work. An avid activist, she has been focusing on running her charity, The Pamela Anderson Foundation, which she founded back in 2014.
On her website, it says: “The Pamela Anderson Foundation supports organisations and individuals that stand on the front lines in the protection of human, animal, and environmental rights. By funding the efforts of those who inform and defend the planet and all who live within it, the Pamela Anderson Foundation is an agent of change and an advocate for justice."
Her foundation supports organisations like PETA, the National Domestic Violence Hotline, IFAW, (International Fund for Animal Welfare) and many others.
And while it doesn't look like we're going to be seeing Pamela in that *iconic* red swimsuit any time soon, it looks like she's happy in her off-grid life. Good luck to her, we say!
