Use the drill side to drill into the top a bit to allow the extractor to get a grip. Your drill should be moving the bit clockwise during this process.

Then flip the tool

Use the extractor side to remove the screw-bolt. Your drill should be moving the bit counterclockwise during this process.

I had a broken bolt inside my motor, an exhaust manifold bolt, decided to give these a try, went step by step drilling a hole down the center of the bolt then using the screw extractors with a hand screw driver, at first was turning but then it snapped inside the bolt refilling the hole I drilled out with this cheap extractor. Now I’m going to have to spend more money on a carbide drill bit to remove it, if it’s even possible. Do not recommend at all.
