If you clean the parts immediately the milk products rinse away readily, so don’t delay as it really must be done. Be sure to remove the O ring as milk does get underneath it. Next time I’m just popping the parts in the dishwasher.
How much cream is lost during the run? The separator plate assembly trapped 65g of cream inside, even after flushing the system by running skim milk through it. That was about 16% of my cream. You’ll need to process about 100l of milk to keep your loss to less than 1%.
The unit came with a spare O ring and float, so I’m guessing these are subject to some wear and tear. I’m not at all sure how easy it will be to get repair parts, should I need them.

I was so excited to try separating my own goats milk. My excitement was quickly stripped away as I tried in vain to interpret the “directions” that came with this machine. I ended up searching for some YouTube instructionals that helped me put this contraption together. The first thing you have to do is wash each part of the machine, which is absolutely impossible because the part that has all the discs in it to separate your delicious milk is trapped inside a contraption that is impossible to take apart unless you have the strength of Samson. I washed what I could and decided I’d let my husband try to take it apart when he got home from work. I’m impatient and wanted to try some delicious cream! After warming the machine up with hot water, I poured in a gallon of my precious milk that I hand collect every single morning at dawn. To my surprise, it came trickling out the front of the machine out onto my counter and floor. I took the machine apart to make sure I had assembled it right multiple times..it wasn’t a user error. I had to run my milk through 3 times to get 1/4 cup of liquid gold, all the while losing some of it to the floor. After giving up on the machine I took it apart to wash, only to realize that the “stainless steel rod” had magically transformed itself into a cheap painted stick and had been leaching its silver paint into my milk and cream. Oh, and those discs that were trapped inside the contraption are still forever imprisoned, even after putting it in a clamp and trying to force it open with every tool in our garage.
Save yourself the time and hassle and either save up for a better milk separator or just do it the good old fashioned way…with a ladle.

1 - the red paint finish was not sealed, just pulling it out of the package, my fingers turned red. I stained several cleaning cloths trying to get it to a point where I could touch it without staining my hands, it also stained my white quartz countertops pink
2 - one of the milk spouts stainless steel is so thin and sharp, I sliced 2 of my fingers open just on the initial cleaning before use, blood everywhere
3 - the instructions are a horrible translation from mandarin to English, they make no sense, very difficult to follow though I did read them all
4 - the base parts aren't sealed, there was milk pouring all through the machine when I tried to operate it even in the motor compartment
I already started a return
my concern is that Amazon needs to stop selling it immediately so that other customers do not suffer injuries or kitchen damage like me
