Linda Evans
Prolific TV producer Aaron Spelling once said, "We have a saying on the set , 'When in doubt, cut to Linda.' "
He was referring to Linda Evans, one of the stars of his seminal prime-time soap opera "Dynasty." The actress first got public notice as Audra, the daughter of Barbara Stanwyck's Victoria Barkley, on the western series "The Big Valley" (1965-69), but she shot to super-stardom as Krystle Carrington on "Dynasty," which ran from 1981 to 1989.
With co-stars John Forsythe and Joan Collins, she and the series helped exemplify the decade’s excess and took soap operas into prime time. While working on the show, she won a Golden Globe (1982) and five straight People's Choice Awards (1982 through 1986).
Evans, often recognized as one of America's most beautiful people, was featured in Playboy in 1971 (allegedly at the urging of then-husband John Derek).
In the 1990s, she had a longtime relationship with the musician Yanni and in 2006 made her Broadway debut in the play "Legends!" She moved to Washington state, and her post-"Dynasty" television career has consisted mostly of TV movies. In 2009, Evans appeared in "Hell's Kitchen" on British TV and won the competition.
