The moment came Wednesday morning as Goldberg's cohosts Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines attempted to advance a developing story — and subsequent conspiracy theories — involving the whereabouts of Middleton after an altered photo of her and her children circulated online following a medical procedure. "Can you bank that? Yeah, no. I'm sorry, you guys, it's your fault, because you bought into it," Goldberg told her cohosts, after Hostin attempted to sell a theory that more images were altered beyond Middleton's recent, controversial family portrait. "We're going to go to break," Goldberg said, appearing to grow increasingly frustrated by the topic, which prompted Joy Behar to observe that the 68-year-old was "too angry now" to continue the discussion. "Yes," Goldberg replied as the show's staff began playing the The View's theme music, which typically accompanies a throw to an ad break. However, the music stopped several seconds after it began when it was clear Goldberg wasn't finished with her point: "You haven't had this done to you. It's our fault, because we bought into this. ABC Haines later indicated that she was "actually worried about Kate" in the ordeal, though Goldberg eventually pushed back again, asking her fellow panelists, "Why do you think it's important to them what you need?" Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked for Donald Trump's communications team, said that she wasn't able to edit photos of Trump in office, but felt Middleton "has every right to Photoshop" personal images — still, she questioned the act of manipulating imagery when the photos are official releases. At one point, multiple cohosts attempted to speak over Goldberg as she reiterated her point, prompting her to respond to their questions. "I'm going to tell you if you stop asking me these stupid questions," she said. "I believe she took the picture and gave it to them because she wanted to take charge of the story that's being put out. She's not thinking like most people who Photoshop their pictures." Goldberg finally put an end to the discussion with the last word — and a real throw to commercial. "This is all speculation, and we're having fun," Goldberg said. "Just know that we don't know."
