UPDATE: The impact of COVID-19 permitting, our public partner (CISSSMO) will commence the last phase of the organization of the health network that started with the reform of Dr. Barrette in 2014. This will entail the transfer of all remaining social services in the MRCs of Haute-Yamaska (Granby) and Brome-Missisquoi (Cowansville) to the region of Estrie (Sherbrooke). This will directly affect both the Butters Foundation and Butters Homes. The Homes will see all of its residences in these 2 MRCs transferred to Estrie, leading to the complication of dealing with 2 inconsistent administrative structures, and the Butters Foundation will be left supporting programs & projects in the 4 remaining MRCs in the western area of Montérégie. These important developments could force both organizations to revisit their mandates and areas of financial support with the public health & social service system.
