Thin Profile Designed to Match 32” Flat<br />

Panel Displays<br />

Flat panel LCD and plasma monitors are<br />

becoming very popular, but many people<br />

wish they could also have thin speakers,<br />

rather than the usual boxes to the front<br />

and sides. The <strong>YSP</strong>-<strong>800</strong> has a compact,<br />

slim profile and is a perfect match for 32”<br />

TVs and monitors.<br />

Simple Connection and Flexible<br />

Placement<br />

Connecting the <strong>YSP</strong>-<strong>800</strong> is much simpler<br />

than with conventional home cinema<br />

systems, because multiple speaker<br />

cables are not necessary. Placement is<br />

flexible – the component can be<br />

positioned above or below the display in<br />

the front-centre of the room, or in either of<br />

the front corners. It is compact enough<br />

that space should not be a problem in<br />

almost any setting. It can also be wallmounted,<br />

or placed on a shelf or rack.<br />

Best Sound in Every Situation with 5 Beam Modes<br />

Five different beam modes can be selected via the remote control. Five Beam mode<br />

provides true multi-channel surround sound. Stereo mode reproduces the effect of a<br />

two-speaker system. Stereo + Three Beam mode and Three Beam mode surround<br />

effects are also available, plus a Target mode that focuses one specific direction.<br />

The <strong>YSP</strong>-<strong>800</strong> applies this sophisticated<br />

technology to precisely control the<br />

orientation of the sound by focusing it<br />

through multiple beams. The centre<br />

channel sound is heard directly, while<br />

sounds from other channels are heard after<br />

reflecting off walls. The result is true multichannel<br />

surround sound that sounds just<br />

like a multi-speaker system – but without<br />

the need for extra speakers!<br />

Two Volume Modes: Night Listening<br />

Enhancer and TV Equal Volume<br />

During low-volume listening, such as late<br />

at night, dynamic range suffers and you<br />

may miss some sounds. The Night<br />

Listening Enhancer offers two settings,<br />

Cinema and Music, with three-level<br />

selectability, which will ensure that you<br />

don’t miss movie dialogue or quiet<br />

passages, or lose overall surround<br />

spaciousness. There is also a TV Equal<br />

Volume mode to prevent sudden bursts of<br />

loud sound such as from commercials.<br />

Yamaha Original Digital Amplifier<br />

The <strong>YSP</strong>-<strong>800</strong> incorporates a digital<br />

amplifier that powers the 21 beam drivers<br />

at 2W each and the two woofers at 20W<br />

each, for a total of 82W of power. Its<br />

advanced digital design is highly efficient<br />

and keeps distortion to an absolute<br />

minimum.<br />
