General Information<br />

<strong>Plant</strong> <strong>Tours</strong> of TMMC in Cambridge are available to groups who have reserved their tours in advance.<br />

Unfortunately, TMMC is not equipped to accommodate walk-in requests. All tours require prior reservations and<br />

must be booked within available tour times only.<br />

In order to clear Security upon arrival, all groups are required to submit a list of all guests no less than 5 full business<br />

days prior to the tour. If supervisors are required for a School Tour, please clearly identify them on the guest list. Children<br />

must be 8 years of age or older, and must be accompanied by an adult.<br />

Guest Lists should be faxed to (519) 653-9288 or emailed to tours@tmmc.ca.<br />

How Do I Book A Tour?<br />

There are many ways to book a tour.<br />

Please be sure to include contact information so that we may work with you to schedule your tour. If any member of<br />

your tour group requires the use of mobility equipment, please inform the Visitor Centre when booking the tour.<br />

TMMC offers group tours to the following:<br />

- School Groups<br />

- Service Groups<br />

- TMMC Team Members<br />

- Tour Groups<br />

- Business groups<br />

- General Public<br />

School Groups<br />

<strong>Tours</strong> are available to school groups from Grade 3 and up and include post-secondary and graduate student groups.<br />

* Tram capacity is 48, however, as children Grade 3 to 5 are generally smaller, trams are capable of accommodating three children<br />

per seat.<br />

School groups from Grade 3 - 12 are reminded that supervisor quotas must be met, to avoid disappointment.<br />

Service Groups<br />

Service groups may include:<br />

- Seniors Groups<br />

- Volunteer Groups<br />

- Church Groups<br />

- Service Clubs (Lions and Rotary Clubs)<br />

- Girl and Boy Scout Groups<br />

TMMC Team Members<br />

TMMC Team Members may schedule tours for their families.<br />

Tour Groups<br />

Since 2003, <strong>Toyota</strong> <strong>Motor</strong> <strong>Manufacturing</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> has accommodated tour groups from neighbouring regions. For<br />

more information, tour groups are encouraged to call the Cambridge Tourism office at (519) 622-2336 or 1 800 749-<br />

7560.<br />

Business Groups<br />

TMMC also welcomes business groups for plant tours. Businesses can request tours by submitting a letter on company<br />

letterhead, indicating the nature of the company’s operations, reason for the tour, requested date, names of the<br />

participants, and the number of visitors. Requests should be faxed to (519) 653-9288, or emailed to tours@tmmc.ca.<br />

Tour Schedule<br />

The following tour schedule has been established to line up with vehicle production schedules:<br />

Mondays (Sep-Jun) 9:30am, 12:15pm<br />

Tuesdays 9:30am, 12:15pm, 2:00pm<br />

Wednesdays 9:30am, 12:15pm, 2:00pm<br />

Thursdays 9:30am, 12:15pm, 2:00pm<br />

The tours are approximately 1 hour in duration and depart from the Visitor Centre.<br />

<strong>Toyota</strong> <strong>Motor</strong> <strong>Manufacturing</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> is proudly growing and developing. As a result, this schedule may change from<br />

time to time.


In addition, unanticipated production needs may necessitate the cancellation of a tour. TMMC requests that all<br />

groups booking tours understand and accept the possibility of tour cancellation. Groups are encouraged to call one<br />

day prior to their tour to confirm their tour.<br />

Safety Rules<br />

<strong>Toyota</strong> <strong>Motor</strong> <strong>Manufacturing</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> is an active manufacturing facility. The safety of all those who enter the plant is<br />

the first priority.<br />

Along the tour, the trams will enter the Welding shop, where occasional welding sparks are present. While these<br />

sparks are not harmful, some fabrics are more easily flammable.<br />

As a result, the following safety rules must be followed by all groups:<br />

1. No hats or scarves.<br />

2. No cameras.<br />

3. No cell phones, pagers, communication devices or mp3 players (Ipods).<br />

4. Only natural fibres may be worn in the plant (wool, cotton, silk, linen etc.)<br />

- No Polyester<br />

- No Rayon<br />

- No Acrylic<br />

- No Synthetic fibre (micro fibre)<br />

5. No shorts, skirts, tear-away pants, nylon pants or tops.<br />

6. All purses, bags, knapsacks must be left in Visitor Centre under lock & key.<br />

7. Safety glasses must be worn at all times.<br />

8. Arms and legs must be kept inside the tram at all times.<br />

9. No food or drinks allowed during the tour.<br />

How Do I Get To The <strong>Plant</strong>?<br />

<strong>Toyota</strong> <strong>Motor</strong> <strong>Manufacturing</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> is located in Cambridge, Ontario near the intersection of Hwy 401 and Hwy 8,<br />

which, by car, is about one hour from Toronto, or one hour from London.<br />

Follow signs for Gate 2 and report to the Visitor centre.<br />

ARRIvINg BY cAR?<br />

Enter Gate 2, and park in Visitor’s Parking. If your group is arriving by bus, instruct the driver to enter at Gate 2.<br />

Proceed to the Gate 2 Visitor Centre (Guard House), and identify yourself.<br />

Security will verify your reservation on the group registration list (provided 5 business days in advance) and a Visitor<br />

Centre staff member will come to greet you.<br />
