For Adriana Lima, getting ready for a star-studded red carpet is an easy feat—after all, the supermodel is an expert at navigating runways and black-tie events with the help of her expert glam squad. So last night for the annual amfAR Gala in Cannes, Lima called upon celebrity makeup artist and longtime friend Patrick Ta to help her prep.

As the hallmark end to an epic week of sun, sand, film premieres, and high-voltage gowns, the amfAR Gala brings together an international cast of marquee names to raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS research. To accompany Lima’s body-hugging, shimmering gold Julien Macdonald dress, Ta dipped into a familiar palette of warm bronze shades from Maybelline, focusing on the Brazilian bombshell’s naturally lit-from-within glow and piercing blue gaze. Hairstylist Laura Polko slicked her dark brunette lengths into a clean knot that channeled the fresh seaside backdrop. Just before Lima stepped into the limo, Ta dabbed on a brownish matte lip and a wash of illuminating highlighter to her décolleté—just the thing for catching the inevitable gleam of the camera flash.
