New England Patriots fans could use a smile as their team prepares to embark on a dreary, meaningless four-game stretch to end the 2023 season. Laughs will certainly be at a premium come Sunday when New England runs into the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs (1 p.m. ET, Fox).
Former perennial Patriot playmakers Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski once again came through for Foxborough fanatics, as the latter appeared on the receiver's "Games With Names" podcast. The two tackled discussions of sizable proportions of the New England glory days ... including a potentially NSFW discussion stemming from the thrill of victory.

Gronkowski and Edelman brought up family business in perhaps the most risqué way possible, more than happy to discuss bathroom antics on the program. When Edelman revealed that Gronkowski wasn't the most blessedly endowed member of his family ... that honor instead bestowed to older brother and brief Patriot Dan ... Rob called his sibling to support the claim.
The comment, however, left a considerable impact on Rob, as answering nature's call with Edelman was never the same.
“Every day in the morning, I’d be (in the bathroom),” Edelman declared. “Gronk would come up and, you know, you have the things that divide you, and Gronk is so much taller that he would literally look over, and he goes, ‘Wow, Jules, your piece looks big today.’”
In more size matters more suitable for general audiences, Edelman and Gronkowski also discussed the DeflateGate phenomenon, the Indianapolis Colts' accusations about partially flattened footballs in the aftermath of the Patriots' 42-20 shellacking in a November 2014 clash. Just over two months later, New England demolished the Colts 45-7 in the AFC title game, after which the allegations of loose balls emerged.
Nearly nine years removed from the incident, the Patriots' playmaking pair labeled the Colts' concerns as a case of sour grapes and hot air.
"They needed to find some B.S. answer of why they kept losing to us every single year, year in and year out," Gronkowsi declared. "They weren't just losing to us. We were absolutely pounding that (butt) every single time we played them."
"That was so stupid, bro. I'm telling you, they just came up with that because we were whooping 'em so bad every game."
To Gronkowski's point, the post-Peyton Manning Colts were frequent victims of the latter days of the New England dynasty. Upon the tight end's arrival, the Patriots won seven straight, including two postseason get-togethers, by an average margin of over three touchdowns.

"I don't like them," Gronkowski bluntly declared. "You can't be any bigger of a loser, pulling that off."
Alas for Gronkowski, the Colts earned a quantum of revenge earlier this season, passing the Patriots 10-6 in an international tilt last month.
