Spencer-Niarn was pregnant during the filming, but that didn’t stop her from putting Karen back in action in the feature, in which bankruptcy is declared in Dog River and she is the only cop left standing in the town after her partner Davis (Lorne Cardinal) is forced to retire.

Spencer-Nairn has worked in Winnipeg before, starring in the 2002 direct-to-video horror film Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled.
