KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — As storms moved through East Tennessee, photos captured just how powerful storms in the region can be.

Wednesday morning, Storm Team 6 tracked as storms moved through the region. Around 10:30 a.m., the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Hamblen and Grainger Counties which has since expired.

In Hamblen County, golf ball-sized hail fell. Viewer Marsha Cleary shared photos of the hail that fell in Morristown on the east side of Cherokee Lake.

In Grainger County, the storms left thousands without power.

Outside the WATE 6 studio, strong winds were captured as clouds moved toward north Knox County. Along Rutledge Pike, the storms also caused outages of multiple signals along the stretch of road.

Photos also captured damage throughout the region caused by the storm.

WATE’s Weather Cameras captured storms throughout the region.
