Kerne.milk - SS24

By Clare McInerney

“Uncensored femininity” continues to be the name of the game for the rising Danish label

Diverse casting is, thankfully, becoming more of a norm across the runways – in Copenhagen, anyway. Yet there’s still something not completely inclusive about it, with age or body diverse models often allocated more matronly or ‘covered up’ looks. So it’s wholly refreshing to see Kerne.milk truly dress all walks of life in its figure-hugging, thigh-skimming forms – as was the case for the brand's spring/summer '24 collection.

The casting truly resonates with the brand's ethos of "uncensored femininity," championed by founder and creative director Marie Mark, with pieces that would come to the fore of your wardrobe for the most fun-fuelled occasions. Colours and textures are playfully mismatched – berry-toned jerseys give way to shearing and suedes, while the display of short-shorts paired with leg-warmers is bound to quickly trickle through to the Scandinavian streets.

Simple on the surface, closer inspection reveals intricate stitching, embroidery and hardware detail. Similarly, Kerne.milk is developing in its sophistication and complexity. And with the one and only Kim Kardashian recently endorsing the brand's pieces, Kerne.milk is undoubtedly one to watch from here onward.
