The golden age of Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s relationship may have come to an abrupt end.
Over the weekend, Fox appeared to hint at an impending breakup by deleting all traces of her fiancé from her feed. But the most telling move was the post she shared next: a series of sexy pictures followed by a clip of a burning letter. “You can taste the dishonesty/it's all over your breath,” the Jennifer’s Body actor captioned the post, clearly quoting a lyric from Beyoncé’s 2016 infidelity album Lemonade. For an added touch, Fox seemingly unfollowed her fiancé and conspicuously started following Eminem, with whom MGK has been publicly beefing for years.
“He probably got with Sophie,” a follower guessed in the comments section beneath Fox’s post, presumably referencing his band’s guitarist, Sophie Lloyd. Known for firing off quippy responses on social media, Fox—a bisexual icon—quickly replied: “Maybe I got with Sophie.”
The implication of a possible split came as a shock given the loving tribute Fox shared about MGK on Instagram only days before. The two attended the Grammys together last week, and when the rapper came away from the ceremony empty-handed, Fox praised him for handling the loss with grace.
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly met on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass in March 2020 and announced their engagement in January 2022. “I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame,” Fox said of MGK in their first joint interview. “Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we’re actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away.”
Since then, they'd ascended to power couple status with over-the-top gestures of love and a plethora of matching red-carpet looks. But along the way, there have been signs of tumult, and breakup rumours have swirled multiple times before. However, these rumours have been followed by Fox deleting her account on Instagram altogether. Only time will tell if this apparent breakup will stick.
