Beauty contracts come and go, but for Natalie Portman and Dior Beauty, theirs is a long-term relationship. Begun in 2010 and incorporating foundation ads in varying states of undress, a turn as a runaway bride and now Dior's new Diorskin Forever campaign, it's one of the beauty and celebrity worlds' most harmonious pairings.

"I've been working with Dior for so long and they have been so incredibly supportive of me and my career. I have also been lucky enough to travel to some pretty incredible places with them, giving me time in foreign countries I may not otherwise get to experience. I feel very lucky to have them in my life," she revealed, also describing Dior Make-up's creative and image director Peter Philips as a "genius" and "true artist", following her work with him since his appointment in 2014. "Also it's a great honour to be in the company of great women such as Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard, Rihanna and Charlize Theron and I feel lucky to be with them as peers."

Jokingly crediting "a great make-up artist" as the secret behind her flawless skin, 34-year-old Portman also says that her wholesome lifestyle is key in contributing to her youthful appearance.

"I try to take care of myself across the board and feel if I do all those things then it shows on my face. For me that means, leading a vegan lifestyle, getting plenty of sleep and exercising regularly," she said. "Take care of yourself and find a beauty routine that is true to who you are. That's why I love Diorskin. It allows me to look like me - just an enhanced version."

With awards season already underway for 2016 - the Golden Globes will take place this Sunday - Portman is well-versed in the attention focused upon red-carpet fashion and beauty (just take her numerous appearance at last year's Cannes Film Festival for evidence of her expertise).

"Good make-up always makes me feel more confident. Wearing a red-carpet look is like stepping into a role, and make-up is a big part of that," she explained. "Make-up artists are incredible and can work magic to make you look more well-rested, brighter… I like to change up my red carpet looks, but I tend to favour a strong eye. And I really love Dior's Lip Glow. It's the perfect hint of colour and looks great on everyone."

With several films out this year as well as working on Jackie Kennedy biopic, Jackie, to launch in 2017, Portman has a busy year ahead. As a mother to four-year-old Aleph, the actress recognises the pressure on women to juggle career and family life with seeming ease, but is keen to point out the importance of making time for yourself.

"Give yourself a break - literally and figuratively. We all hold ourselves to such a high standard and it's a constant balancing act. If you have one bad day, don't let it define you. There's always tomorrow. I also think it's important to carve out time for yourself. It's easy to forget that but it's so important."

Diorskin Forever Foundation launches this month, priced at £33. Visit Dior.com for more information.
