THE thirteenth best dressed man in Britain according to GQ, Clive Owen is just as happy talking about the skill of the great Giorgio Armani as he is waxing lyrical about his beloved Liverpool FC. The Italian designer created Owen's entire wardrobe for his latest release Duplicity, at the request of the actor himself.

"The brief from Tony Gilroy [the director] was 'You have to look great'," Owen revealed in an exclusive interview with GQ.COM. "He said 'I want you looking as sharp and as great as you can,' so the first thing I did was call the costume designer and call Giorgio Armani and say 'Would you do my clothes for this film?' He designed every single piece of clothing I wear in the movie."

Giorgio Armani has supplied the wardrobe for many celluloid heroes through the years, including Christopher Bale's Bruce Wayne in 2008's The Dark Knight, Kevin Costner's Thirties prohibition agent, Elliot Ness, in The Untouchables and Richard Gere's iconic American Gigolo.

The light-hearted spy caper, which sees Owen star opposite Julia Roberts for the second time in five years, is his second espionage release this year following The International. His co-star speaks very highly of him, telling The Times: "George Clooney is obsessed with Clive. Every good-guy actor talks about Clive as one of their favourites," - and the feeling seems to be mutual.

"We trust each other, we like each other, we respect each other," Owen tells GQ.COM of his relationship with Roberts as their chemistry returns to the screen. Duplicity is in cinemas now and the full Clive Owen interview can be seen now on GQ.COM.
