Where is Redwood National Park located?

Redwood National Park is located in northern California, very close to the Oregon border.

The park is almost equidistant from San Francisco, California, as it is from Portland, Oregon.

It will take approximately six to seven hours to get to the park from San Francisco or Portland by car.

Redwood National Park contains over 131,000 acres of protected land.

When is the best time to visit Redwood National Park?

Redwood National Park is open 24 hours a day.

Visitors can enter the park year round, with the exception of some campsites and centers being closed from October to May.

The ideal time to visit Redwood National Park is between May and September, as there is usually less rain during those months.

The most popular time to visit the park is during the summer; however, due to the parks large size, it won't ever really feel crowded.

How much does it cost to visit Redwood National Park?

The park is divided into federal and state sections, thus depending on which part you visit, the fee will vary.

The only parts that require a fee to enter are the Prairie Creek Redwoods, Del Norte Coast Redwoods, and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Parks.

All other parts of the park are free to visit.

To enter the Gold Bluffs Beach or Fern Canyon within Prairie Creek, visitors will need to pay $12.

To enter the Jedediah Smith Campground, visitors will need to pay $8.

What can I do at Redwoods National Park?

Redwoods National Park offers backcountry and developed campgrounds for visitors to enjoy.

There is a $35 fee to stay at one of developed campground sites and you must make a reservation beforehand.

Visitors can explore the park by driving, hiking, and biking.

One of the most popular trails is Tall Trees Grove, perfect for viewing the redwoods up close.

The tallest tree in the world, standing at 379 feet, can be viewed along the Tall Trees Grove Trail.
