Carrie Underwood took to Twitter on Wednesday and expressed pride in her husband's announcement that he'll come of retirement and return to the National Hockey League this season.

"This is happening! Fish is back! So proud of you, baby! We want the cup!!!" the 34-year-old country music star and wife of former Nashville Predator Mike Fisher tweeted.

She also retweeted a highlights clip of Fisher's time with the Predators following a press conference about the 37-year-old's return to the ice at Bridgesone Arena.

Fisher retired last August, announcing his decision Wednesday in an exclusive story for The Tennessean. He's not under contract, but intends to sign one before the Feb. 26 trade deadline that will last through the remainder of this season.

Fisher said he remained busy in retirement, raising son Isaiah and pursuing business ventures. But the itch to return became irresistible. The Predators recently approached Fisher about a potential reunion and convinced him to rejoin the active roster.
