Mark Wahlberg Talks Justin Bieber's Calvin Klein Ads on Conan

"I'm trying to move away from that image."

When we first caught a glimpse of Justin Bieber’s Calvin Klein Underwear ads, all we could think was how familiar they looked. Standing tall in his tight white boxer briefs, Justin looked more like former Calvin model Mark Wahlberg than ever. Since Marky Mark’s Calvin ads are just as iconic as the brand's campaigns with Kate Moss, Brooke Shields and more, it was hard not to draw a comparison between the new and old class.

Mark discussed Justin's ads on Conan Wednesday night, letting us in on a little secret we can’t help but laugh at. Apparently, Justin sent his pics to Mark himself. Yup, you read that right.

Mark explains, “He is a very nice young man. He is a friend of mine. I’ve spent time with him. He did send me the pictures. I was like, ‘You don’t send a guy pictures like this.” Of course, there are plenty of guys who would be happy to receive Justin's pics, but Mark clearly would prefer not to.

He went on to say, “[Justin] was proud. It was a big deal for him to do it. I was like, I’m at 45, a dad, a husband and a father of four, I’m trying to move away from that image.”

Oh well — at least we know we weren’t alone in thinking the ads looked similar. Clearly, Justin was channeling the former Calvin model when he shot his latest campaign. Free advice? Maybe just don't send them directly to Mark next time.
