The Radeon 9700 PRO X4 was a graphics card by ATI, launched on August 19th, 2002. Built on the 150 nm process, and based on the R300 graphics processor, the card supports DirectX 9.0. Since Radeon 9700 PRO X4 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The R300 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 215 mm² and 110 million transistors. Radeon 9700 PRO X4 combines four graphics processors to increase performance. It features 8 pixel shaders and 4 vertex shaders, 8 texture mapping units, and 8 ROPs, per GPU. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). ATI has paired 512 MB DDR memory with the Radeon 9700 PRO X4, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface per GPU (each GPU manages 128 MB). The GPU is operating at a frequency of 325 MHz, memory is running at 310 MHz. Being a dual-slot card, the ATI Radeon 9700 PRO X4 draws power from 2x Molex power connectors, with power draw not exactly known. Display outputs include: 4x DVI. Radeon 9700 PRO X4 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI interface.
