A 42-year-old Watertown woman has been charged with second degree assault and domestic assault, following an alleged altercation in Watertown.
At about 7:40 a.m. March 25, Carver County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 200 block of Grove Avenue Northeast in Watertown.
Before calling law enforcement, a neighbor reported hearing a verbal dispute and a female screaming “Stop hitting me! Stop strangling me!,” according to a criminal complaint.
The neighbor walked out of her apartment and saw a man, who stated “She’s crazy. My shoulder hurts.” The neighbor then saw Ahmo Kathleen Hight allegedly acting “crazy,” the complaint stated. Hight then threw a pill bottle at the man, according to the complaint.
Hight and the alleged victim began arguing when she asked for access to the man’s Facebook page and he refused, the complaint stated. “The defendant began to yell and scream at [the man] and demanded he leave the apartment,” the complaint stated.
The man started gathering his belongings, when Hight allegedly started hitting him, the complaint stated. The man “felt pain in his shoulder and saw a shiny object in the defendant’s hand. [He] pushed the defendant away and went to grab some other items and exit the room,” according to the complaint.
Hight then allegedly began to hit the man again in the back. The man left and went to a friend’s house, the complaint stated. While there he saw he was bleeding. He had four stab wounds — two in his right tricep, one in the middle of his back and one on his left tricep, according to the complaint. When contacted by deputies the victim allegedly stated, “She’s crazy. She stabbed me.” According to the complaint, "Deputies recovered a scissors that the defendant stated she used to stab [the man]."
The man was transported to Ridgeview Medical Center where he was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries.
On March 26, Hight was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and domestic assault, a misdemeanor, according to the Sheriff’s Office. She is being held in the Carver County Jail pending $1,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April 22.
