Boom! French artist Bernar Venet's metal installations have washed up on the Place Vendôme. From March 18 to April 15, 2023, discover the two sculptures, seemingly fallen from the sky, in the jewelers' landscape of the iconic luxury spot in Paris.

Art once again takes over the Place Vendôme! In parallel to the exhibition Difféomorphisme et discontinuité, unveiled in the Perrotin galleries in the Marais and Matignon, Bernar Venet presents La Parabole de l'Histoire, a methodically chaotic installation to be discovered on the iconic Parisian square, from March 18 to April 15, 2023.

For more than 60 years, the renowned French artist has been redefining the boundaries of art through his radical style, which rethinks traditional forms of sculpture.Corten steel, his favorite material, in his hands becomes protean, and is erected into imposing installations that are both orderly and chaotic.

The carte blanche at Place Vendôme is a tribute to Bernar Venet's geometric language on the scale of public space. On either side of the column, two sculptures of Arcs are as if "fallen" on the cobblestones, an almost unreal vision of a celestial-earthly collision. The metal bars are overturned, piled up ... On one side, two groups of arches rest on the edge, while on the other side, the steel elements form a circular pile, in which the walker can venture.

This impression of falling due to the collapse of the orange curves is a nod to the past of the Vendome column. The monument was demolished in 1871, then rebuilt a few years later.

A new artist takes over the Place Vendôme. Hard to miss!
