Tennessee Titans Will Wear Oilers Throwbacks Jerseys in These Two Games

The Tennessee Titans debuted their Houston Oilers throwback jerseys just a few days ago, but now the team has revealed who the Titans will be wearing them against and what week.

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans set the NFL world ablaze on Sunday night when they finally revealed their Houston Oilers throwback jerseys that they intend to wear this season. We knew what they looked like, but we still hadn't heard when we would see the throwbacks — until now.

The Titans' social media team released the information in tweet today. The throwbacks will be worn against the Atlanta Falcons on October 29. We will see them again on December 17 against the Houston Texans. Both home games.

Yes, you read that right. The Titans will be wearing their Houston Oilers throwbacks against the Houston Texans, in Tennessee. Add in the signing of long-time Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and you could see why there might be some tensions between the fan bases.

Since the Titans debuted the throwbacks we have seen numerous people dive into the debate on whether the Titans should still hold the Oilers' history. Deciding to wear the jerseys against the Texans is a level of petty that will get the internet talking, whether the Titans admit their ill-intention or not.

Worth noting though we have seen two names that are entrenched in Houston history recently come out and defend the Titans' use of the Oilers' brand. First, long-time Oilers quarterback Warren Moon and then hall-of-fame sportswriter John McClain.

The game where we will see the Titans wear the throwbacks against the Texans will come in December which could make for an incredible aesthetic. The white throwbacks with a touch of snow could look like art on grass — well, turf.

The Atlanta Falcons game will come in October, but it was a smart choice based on Atlanta's color scheme. The Falcons' jerseys heavily feature black and a bold red. If the Falcons wear all black, the Titans' whites will really pop in contrast. Add in the lighter tone of the blue and it should look incredible.

Now that we know all there is to know about the Oilers throwbacks, we can begin focusing on what the team will look like while wearing and if they'll be able to celebrate the look with a couple of victories.
