The Lookout!

The Sicamous Lookout is loved by locals and visitors alike, a monumental and extraordinary viewpoint! If you’re into heart-altering, far-reaching aerial views forever then look no further! The expansive vistas of Shuswap Lake, Mara Lake, The Eagle River, Mara Mountain, and the colorful town of Sicamous are not only iconic, but they are also a must-do on your summer adventure list!

The Sicamous lookout was originally a popular hang gliders platform. A beautiful, aged wooden platform that appears to extend into the sky, surrounded by soaring mountains, sheer cliff edges, and sparkling waterscapes below. The platform is decommissioned now for hang gliding but remains a top spot for those endless Shuswap views. You can drive to this epic spot on a forest service road in a regular vehicle and park to make the short walk over to the landmark. A true delight for the senses and perfectly represents the natural beauty of the Shuswap!

**Safety is paramount here. The wooden platform is large and is rotting in some spots. Without any safety rails, visitors are at their own risk. Children and pets should always be kept away from the steep edges.
