Olivia Wilde Gives Rare Update About Her ‘Cool’ Kids

Things are going well for Olivia Wilde’s kids Otis, 9, and Daisy, 7, who she shares with ex-husband Jason Sudeikis. She recently gave a rare update on her kids’ lives, and they seem to be thriving.

“They’re so great. They’re huge and they’re so healthy and happy,” the actress told PEOPLE at the opening night of the one-woman play Kate. “I already feel like they’re giant teenagers, but we’re having a lot of fun. They’re my best friends.”

She went on to say that she thinks her kids are so “cool.”

“We have so much fun. They’re so active. They’re musicians and they’re athletes and they’re just cool,” Wilde told the outlet. “They both play drums and they sing and we just have a great time. We’re a big karaoke family.” Aww! It sounds like they have the sweetest bond.

During the interview, the Perfect director, who dated Harry Styles after her breakup with Sudeikis, shared her very relatable bonding activity with her kids. “Right now we have a lot of Taylor Swift happening in our house,” she told PEOPLE. “It’s wall-to-wall Taylor and Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish.” She continued, “And now Daisy has brought in Dua Lipa, but we’re like, ‘Taylor first.’”

It’s nice to see she’s a Swiftie, especially after her comments on Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship back in October, when she wrote on her Instagram, “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.”

Later, she responded to the backlash, telling Daily Mail, “I meant no harm. It’s obviously a comment on how much attention gets paid to stupid things.”
Keeping Her Kids’ Privacy

In Oct. 2022, the Don’t Worry Darling director clapped back at haters who claimed she didn’t spend enough time with her kids.

“I share custody of my kids with my ex. If I’m photographed not with my kids, people assume I have abandoned them, like my kids are just somewhere in a hot car without me,” she told Elle. “The suggestion is that I have abandoned my role as a mother.”

She continued, “You know why you don’t see me with my kids? Because I don’t let them get photographed. Do you know the lengths that I go to to protect my kids from being seen by you?” She has a point!
Co-Parenting Agreement

After an 18-month legal battle, Wilde and Sudeikis came to an agreement over child support in Sept. 2023. The two have joint custody of the kids, and Sudeikis has to pay $27,500 a month in child support and 25% of Wilde’s childcare expenses.

Things seem to be going well for them, and the kids had a great Christmas Day with their dad! On Dec. 25, Otis and Daisy crashed their dad’s interview on ESPN’s Bird & Taurasi Show, per E! News, to reveal what they got from Christmas. Otis revealed that he got a PS5, and Daisy showed off a dog stuffed animal to the camera named “Gray Guy.” Later, they climbed all over their dad, and he joked, “I wish I can blame this on Christmas.”
