Hug Point Waterfall
Hug Point Waterfall is the closest cascade to Seaside, just twelve miles south within the Hug Point State Recreation Site. Hug Point was named after early travelers who used to travel by stagecoach along the beach, hugging the sandstone cliffs to make it up and down the coast. Today, you can find the Hug Point Waterfall at low tide just a short stroll down the beach from the parking lot. Don’t forget to check the tide table before your visit!
Blumenthal Falls
An eight-minute drive from Hug Point, you will find Blumenthal Falls tumbling 45 feet down a rock cliff. Similar to Hug Point, this waterfall can only be seen during low tide from the beach.
Access the waterfall on the .5-mile Short Sand Beach Trail and witness the water cascading down to the beach. Access even more adventures within Oswald State Park, such as biking, hiking, and whale watching!
Young’s River Falls
Make the 30-minute drive from Seaside to Young’s River Falls, a beautiful waterfall cascading 54 feet to the water below. Access the waterfall from the parking lot on an easy .25-mile trail winding through dense forests. This is also a popular spot to enjoy a refreshing swim during the summer months!
Fishhawk Falls
Located just under an hour from Seaside, Fishhawk Falls cascades 70 feet down a tiered rock cluster in two sections. Explore the short trail following the creek through the forest until you are met with the magical cascades of Fishhawk Falls. While you’re here, we recommend visiting the Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area, a mile down the road.
