Inside Gisele Bündchen’s glowing wellness routine: 10 unexpected ways the supermodel stays in shape, from oil pulling and jiu-jitsu to her Dior serum – plus her workouts are ‘harder’ than ex Tom Brady
Gisele Bündchen may have just gone through a divorce, but she’s still looking as gorgeous as ever.
So, how does she maintain that signature, effortless Gisele glow we all crave (besides good genetics, of course)?
1. Meditating to the sounds of the ocean and oil pulling
According to Vogue, Bündchen is an early bird who wakes up at 5.00am to meditate amid the sounds of the ocean for the first hour of her day. She confirms this in her book Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, saying that she then does her morning stretches and oil pulls – the act of swishing oil around your mouth to remove bacteria and plaque. She does this with coconut oil for 15 minutes before prepping the kids for school.
2. Martial arts
The ultra-fit former Victoria’s Secret star swears by the ancient Shaolin principles, per MaArtial.
She’s so committed to kung fu that she told Vogue she was still practising while pregnant up until two weeks before the birth of her son.

Staying true to her Brazilian roots, Bündchen has also taken up Brazilian jiu-jitsu. In February 2022, she posted a video of herself fighting with her black-belt trainer at Valente Brothers in Florida.
“I feel stronger, more confident and empowered since I started practising self-defence. I feel it’s an important skill for all, but especially for us women,” she captioned the post.
3. Her roll-on aromatherapy oil
Aromatherapy oils are hailed for their soothing abilities and muscle relaxation benefits. It’s one of the reasons the 42-year-old carries one around with her at all times. She told Vogue she uses different aromas for different functions and has peppermint, lavender and ylang-ylang.
4. A simple facial routine
Her secret ingredient to that flawless complexion? Water!
5. The great outdoors
Horseback riding, biking, skiing … there’s not much that the mum-of-two hasn’t tried when it comes to sports.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Bündchen often shares her sentiments on the importance of a digital detox. “Imagine if we recharged as often as we recharge our phones?” she captioned a post. “That’s why I try to find time to recharge every day, whether meditating, praying, taking a walk in nature, enjoying the sunrise or even just taking a moment to breathe deeply.”
6. Dark chocolate
While we can’t imagine Bündchen’s cheat day has ever featured much fast food, she does preach her love for dark chocolate, telling Marie Claire that it’s her “guilty pleasure”. The sweet treat may have some health benefits though, as it’s said to be a powerful source of antioxidants and could even improve brain function.

7. Spiritual healers
In October last year, People reported that Bündchen was spotted attending healing sessions with Dr. Ewa in Miami. The Ayurvedic doctor is also said to specialise in alternative holistic practices like chromotherapy, also known as colour therapy, and sound and light therapy.
8. Yoga and Pilates
Bündchen has practised yoga for some time now and said in an Instagram post that the ancient practice helped her face difficult challenges in her life and transformed the way she lives. Yoga is considered a great low-impact workout that can improve flexibility and posture.
She also devotes much of her time to Pilates. According to Vogue, the fitness enthusiast trains with Nonna Gleyzer (aka Body By Nonna).
9. Plant-based diet
Bündchen, who starts her days with hot water and lemon followed by green juice, watches what she eats very closely. Not necessarily in terms of calories, but more about where the food is coming from.
The supermodel told Marie Claire that her and then-husband Brady ate a mainly plant-based diet because it “makes us feel good and it also has less of an impact on the environment”. She added that she buys local organic produce to support farmers.

10. Intense workouts
There is no doubt that Bündchen and Brady both have intense workout routines.
While Brady, 45, admitted to People that his toughest exercises were on the field, he added that his then-wife would “[go] harder” than him when it came to the gym.
She does a mix of cardio, resistance bands and classes, per Insider.
Brady and Bündchen were married for 13 years and divorced on “amicable” terms, according to their announcements.
- Former Victoria’s Secret supermodel Gisele Bündchen made headlines last year for her ‘amicable’ split from recently retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady, with whom she shares two kids
- Bündchen still follows a routine of martial arts, Pilates and yoga, and once tried healing therapy that is also popular among celebs like Kim Kardashian, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow
