Barack Obama left the White House on Friday, Jan. 20, at the end of two terms spanning eight years — and leaves behind a presidential legacy that will debated for decades.

Marked by high approval ratings and a divided country, his presidency was the subject of many editorial cartoons in The San Diego Union-Tribune, running from his successful 2008 campaign to the campaign that Donald Trump won last year to become the 45th president of the United States.

We searched through our archives and found dozens and dozens of editorial cartoons about Obama. We were not able to add them all to this list, but we picked 18 that summarized his presidency.

Take a trip down memory lane and share your favorite Obama editorial cartoon with your friends.
