2023 Comedy TRAILER for Bupkis: Season 1 Trailer List
78% 51 Reviews Tomatometer 89% 250+ Ratings Audience Score Comedian Pete Davidson has a weird life. After moving back home to Staten Island, he struggles to deal with unfortunate family news, all the while trying to maintain his career, relationships and mental health in an increasingly surreal and heightened world of his own making. Described as a "heightened fictionalized version of Pete Davidson's life," the series has been compared to Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Edie Falco stars as Pete's mother, Joe Pesci portrays his grandfather, and a diverse roster of guest stars, including Jon Stewart, Steve Buscemi, Jane Cutain, Machine Gun Kelly and Al Gore, appear throughout the episodes. What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Pete Davidson's second crack at playing a fictionalized version of himself may feel faintly recycled, but a terrific supporting cast and some surprising depth ensure this series adds up to more than just Bupkis.

Sheila B Pete Davidson and his entire cast are engaging and funny in this heartfelt series. The writing is intelligent and provides a bit of everything. I love it and think "Bupkis" alone is reason enough to subscribe to Peacock. With the way season 1 ended, there'd better be a season 2! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Ross H Pete Davidson and the cameos( could be his band name) packed full in every episode with Joe Pesci...Ray Romano..etc..make for a comedic, artistic ( being filmed in B&W ) and well written as well as directed series that I hope gets renewed Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Ashley A I have no idea how this series is so underrated! I watched with with my partner (41m) in one setting. Everything from the cameos to the music felt like one big nostalgia piece. Honestly, I wasn't sure how Pete would be as a writer and main character, and I think he passed with flying honors. I'm really hoping there will be a second season. Brian Tallerico The Playlist The success of “Bupkis” will live and die on what people think of Pete Davidson. It feels like the majority could finally be on Pete’s side. Rated: B May 17, 2023 Full Review Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic By the time the season ends (all but demanding a second season), you still may wonder what it is about Pete Davidson. But you almost certainly will find yourself rooting for him. May 11, 2023 Full Review David Bianculli NPR Both endearingly self-deprecating and reliably entertaining. May 9, 2023 Full Review Sarah Ward Concrete Playground No wild escapade is ever exactly the same twice, of course, as Davidson's on-screen characters keep experiencing — and repeating himself turns out entertainingly and astutely when he's this intent to keep interrogating his own existence. Jul 15, 2023 Full Review Bruce R. Miller Sioux City Journal there are movies-within-movies that might have been interesting to pursue. But, like Pete Davidson, “Bupkis” loses interest and moves on to something else. Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 10, 2023 Full Review Lina Lecaro LA Weekly/Village Voice We’ll be hoping to see them together in season 2 of Bupkis, which we’re sure will be back, even if it hasn’t been announced yet. It’s one of the best new comedies to contend for an Emmy this year. Jul 7, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
