This nice camera arrived this week
I call this German lady 'Gretchen'

It's a Automat 6x6 Model RF 111A, made between 1937 and 1939
In working condition, although a CLA would be a good idea for this old lady

The Film SLR "N80" Nikon I just ordered in the used section of Adorama looks just like it.

I thought that was an F80. Can’t be polluting this marvelous thread with digital trash

I think the N90s/F90x is a great value used and with the multifunction back it has more functionality than the Pentax PZ-1p with the same shutter I believe. I had 3 N90s, but sold one.

I just purchased a Nikon N(F) 80 from Adorama for $32 dollars in G condition. Hoping it all works out OK. We'll see

I used to have a MZ5n (ZX5n) back at the end of the '90s. I thought it a very nice camera. It's a shame there were problems with some of the construction choices leading to reliability issues. They were the last Pentax cameras which captured the essence of machines like SV, Spotties, MX or ME Super cameras whilst incorporating the latest tech. IMO.

I mirror those sentiments. It's probably why I have so many. Most of which are working!

All the ones with flashes up are fully functional. Flash down means the spring pin is broken, but works otherwise. the two in the front row with no body caps have broken drive gears.
I need to place another order for brass replacements at some point, and get a buddy of mine to 3D print fixes for the flashes.

The F100 (one step better than the F80) was used as the basis for the earlier Nikon DSLR bodies and the D90 still shows some of that.

I'd say your problem is that you're addicted to the wrong range of film cameras. Try some earlier ones that are far more reliable.
