Unique Ski Experience - Within 20 minutes of Vancouver are 3 mountains that you can ski on. All 3 are visible from the city and lit at night for skiing. Cypress is the biggest with "two" mountains making up the area. There are cross country, snowshoeing and hiking trails in the winter and if you're crazy enough, mountain bike trails. There's also a tobogganing park. Go very early on a weekend as parking is a nightmare. Grouse is a good hill too and in my opinion has the best ski instruction for the little ones. You park at the base and take a gondola up. Good restaurants and phenomenal views. Seymour is the family friendly mountain. Snowboard friendly but limited runs. Park at the top. One cool feature: there's one run right off the parking lot so you can do a run without taking a chair first.
