Red Ring of Death

A general hardware failure in an Xbox 360, which is signaled by three of the four LED quadrants flashing red. In 2007, Microsoft acknowledged the high rate of problems and extended a three-year warranty to users experiencing the failure. See Black Screen of Death and Blue Screen of Death.

The Xbox 360 Ring Normal operation is from one to four of the LED quadrants to display green. Three flashing red lights indicates a general hardware failure.
