Two of the biggest actors on “Hawaii Five-0” are leaving the series because they are paid less than their co-stars.
Daniel Dae Kim, 48, and Grace Park, 43, are leaving the popular CBS series after seven years because they were reportedly unable to negotiate the same pay as their co-stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan, Variety reported.
The pair was offered around 10-15% less than what O’Loughlin and Caan are paid by CBS, which produces the series, according to the magazine.
All four of the cast members have starred on the show since its debut on the network in 2010.
A CBS spokesperson refused to comment on salary specifics when asked by the Daily News, but did provide a statement on behalf of the network and executive producer Peter Lenkov.
“We are so appreciative of Daniel and Grace’s enormous talents, professional excellence and the aloha spirit they brought to each and every one of our 168 episodes,” the statement read.
“They’ve helped us build an exciting new Hawaii Five-0, and we wish them all the best and much success in their next chapters. Mahalo and a hui hou…”
Lenkov added that there was no other actor that he wanted to play Chin HoKelly (Kim), and said Park brought “beauty and serenity” to each episode.
“We wish them both all the best,” he added.
Reps for Park and the “Lost” alum did not immediately respond to a Daily News request for comment.
Neither Park’s character, Kono Kalakaua, nor Kim’s character will appear in Season 8. Their absences will be addressed in the season premiere, according to Variety.
