Trust no one on those Botox rumors.
“The X-Files” star Gillian Anderson blasted a British paper’s “expert” analysis of the cosmetic procedures she might’ve inflicted on her age-defying face since her stint on the ’90s sci-fi series.
“If it weren’t so sad, this bollocks would have made my day,” she tweeted this week, sharing a photo of the story titled, “Ageless Gillian and the BotoX Files.”
The offending article included a graphic dissecting the 47-year-old actress’s flawless visage feature by feature, with so-called experts speculating on the chemical peels, dermal fillers and Botox injections they suspected she’d had.
To drive home her point, Anderson shared a photo Friday of herself present-day, captioning it, “This is how I really look!” and adding the hashtag “#agingwithoutshame.”
The actress swung back at another Hollywood double-standard — the industry’s pervasive gender wage gap — when she revealed last month she’d been offered half the salary of co-star David Duchovny to return for Fox’s “X-Files” revival.
“It is… sad,” she told the Daily Beast, at a loss for words.
“I’m surprised that more (interviewers) haven’t brought that up because it’s the truth,” Anderson added of the lowball offer.
“Especially in this climate of women talking about the reality of (unequal pay) in this business, I think it’s important that it gets heard and voiced.”
Anderson, who reportedly ended up receiving a salary equal to Duchovny’s, reprised her role as skeptical Agent Dana Scully in the new six-part series last month. Its fifth installment airs Monday.
