Who Is Bullseye? 'Daredevil' Season 3 Trailer Introduces Copycat Hired by Wilson Fisk

Living by the motto "Darkness only responds to darkness" is a dangerous prospect. But Matt Murdock never backs down from a fight, and the Daredevil Season 3 trailer proves he's sure as hell not going to start now. Especially not with a copycat in town, hired by Wilson Fisk. The latest footage of the Marvel-Netflix series all but confirms this season will introduce Bullseye, a staple foe from the comics.

While the trailer did not confirm the Bullseye moniker will be used in the series, there's a few reasons it's pretty obvious the man disguised in the new Daredevil suit is indeed Bullseye. First, the character has been long rumored to appear in this season. Variety reported Wilson Bethel plays an FBI agent who has a "critical role" in the conflict between Fisk and Daredevil, and Bethel's jawline looks a lot like this copycat's. Second, the character's lethal aim—without superpowers—also strongly suggests Bullseye.. Finally, in the comics, he's just as much of a psychopath as Wilson Fisk; it's an intuitive partnership.

Bullseye, civilian name Lester (sometimes Benjamin), is an incredible marksman. That's not exactly Daredevil's thing, which is what makes that fight in the final moments of the trailer so thrilling. Bullseye hurls objects at his opponents with 100 percent accuracy, until Daredevil catches one, and we have ourselves a standoff. Often an assassin for hire, Bullseye worked with Fisk (a.k.a. Kingpin) in the comic books on multiple occasions.

There's even precedent for Bullseye impersonating Daredevil to destroy his image. In Daredevil #290, Matt impersonates Bullseye to take down his copycat. The storyline starts in Daredevil #284 when Matt gets amnesia. Bullseye finds out, and uses his foe's injury to his advantage, hitting the streets as Daredevil. There's also an arc that involves Bullseye killing Karen Page, but let's not go there… wouldn't want to speak that into existence.
