One of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, Ranveer Singh got embroiled in a major controversy after he bared it all for a magazine photoshoot. The Padmavat actor’s pictures went viral in July last year, where he was seen posing without clothes. One of the pictures from that photoshoot has made a comeback in the form of an album cover of a leading American singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens for his latest outing Javelin. Netizens were quick to notice this bizarre collaboration.
A user on reddit, that goes by the username Filmenthusiast_M shared the screenshot of the album cover on a popular Bollywood sub. They wrote, “Sufjan is one of my favourite singers ever, his whole discography is just perfect. I was shocked while searching for his new album to come across Ranveer’s photoshoot. I love this intersection of my two personalities, it’s so funny because it was so unexpected?”
Soon, other Reddit users expressed their myriad reactions to the same. One of them wrote,
“If you actually think about it, Ranveer would have been the perfect brown Hollywood darling. He has the talent, would blitz up red carpets and actually have other people as competition in the area of flamboyance. They wouldn’t be making fun of his sartorial choices and would actually encourage him to experiment more.” Another one commented, “Indie girls about to have a field day with this one.” Someone else said, “Damn that is huge. Good for ranveer.” A netizen also stated, “Is this his way to show support to Ranveer (knowing about the controversy and all)? I like it, Sufjans is a sweet guy.”
For the unversed, In one of the images from the infamous photoshoot, the actor was captured lying naked on a carpet. His pose resembled that of a photoshoot done by the famous 1970s American actor Burt Reynolds. The Mumbai Police booked Ranveer under Indian Penal Code Section 292, 293, 509, and the IT Act. He was charged with hurting the sentiments of women.
Meanwhile, Sufjan Stevens latest 10th studio album Javelin is a tribute to his late partner Evans Richardson IV. The actor penned in his Instagram post, “He was an absolute gem of a person, full of life, love, laughter, curiosity, integrity, and joy. He was one of those rare and beautiful ones you find only once in a lifetime —precious, impeccable, and absolutely exceptional in every way. I know relationships can be very difficult sometimes, but it’s always worth it to put in the hard work and care for the ones you love, especially the beautiful ones, who are few and far between.
