Tammy Sytch, the legendary 1990s 'Diva' known as Sunny, has entered a plea of "nolo contendere", deciding not to contest the serious charge against her for driving under the influence during a car accident.

The incident occurred in Ormond Beach, Florida, on March 22, 2022, resulting in the death of a 75-year-old man.

What does it mean for Tammy Sytch to plead "nolo contendere"?

Pleading "nolo contendere" is a legal concept in the United States, which means that the defendant declines to contest the charges, accepting the conviction but avoiding an admission of factual guilt, neither admitting nor denying responsibility.

Sunny had initially pleaded not guilty to all charges, including driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and up to six other minor charges, but changed her plea in a Volusia County courtroom in Florida just days before the trial.

By entering a "nolo contendere" plea, Sytch will proceed to sentencing, which could result in a maximum sentence of up to 25 years, as if she had pleaded guilty.

The fatal traffic accident involving Tammy Sytch

Sytch has been in custody since May 22, 2022, when she was charged by the prosecution for crashing her car into the rear of another vehicle that was stopped at a red light.

She was unable to prevent her Mercedes from colliding with the rear of a Kia Sorento, causing fatal injuries to the driver, Julian Lasseter Jr.

Who is Tammy Sytch?

Sytch rose to fame in the 1990s as one of the prominent 'Divas' of the WWE, becoming the most downloaded celebrity on the internet in 1996.

She was even enshrined as a member of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

At the peak of her career, Sunny declined a lucrative offer from Playboy to pose nude, but later worked for money on an adult content website from 2001 to 2003.

Years later, she redirected her career by joining OnlyFans as an adult content creator.

Prior to the fatal accident for which the famous WWE 'Diva' is being tried, she had been arrested six times for driving under the influence, and in 2022 she was also arrested for threatening a man with scissors after consuming drugs and alcohol.
