Levy Lee Simon & John Marshall Jones

Levy Lee Simon & John Marshall Jones

Ten years ago John Marshall Jones and I hooked up when he produced the LA premiere of my Award Winning play, THE BOW WOW CLUB. That production garnered several NAACP nominations and was invited to the NBTF 2007. Later in 2007 and again in 2008, JJ played the lead role in my play THE GUEST AT CENTRAL PARK WEST, at the H.A.D.L.E.Y. Players in Harlem. That production won Audelco Awards for Dramatic Production of the Year, Best Actor (John Marshall Jones) and Best Playwright. Over the next few years we worked on developing those projects for the screen. Then in 2015, I directed JJ, in a stage production of Javon Johnson's BREATHE, which was also invited to the NBTF,2017. Also in 2015, we took the stage production of THE LAST REVOLUTIONARY to the NBTF where I was approached by Micheal Michael Brewer, about making THE LAST REVOLUTIONARY into a film. Two years later and with your help, here we are. After six festival appearances this year we are very honored to open the African Diaspora Film Festival (ADFF), NYC 2017.

As you know JJ is on 4 TV shows at the moment, In the Cut, Shooter, 9-1-1, and Bosch. I'm working on new projects for film, TV and stage, and am always open to doing some acting and directing, when I can. Onward and upward. In the light, with what's right. Changing the world with new insight. LL.
