This week, we were thrilled to welcome and welcome back 25,000+ students to #SFU! That includes Alex, who is a Schulich Leader Scholarships recipient studying in the SFU Applied Sciences. His mom (Laurel, BA, 2013 & PDP, 2013) and grandmother (Carol, MEd, 1990) are proud SFU Alumni members. We look forward to seeing all of our students succeed in their studies.

As we continue to review and understand the 2022 PISA results, we are reflecting on the high superintendent turnover impacting education and the importance of supporting current leaders and growing pipelines of leadership. The experience of Dr. Carey Wright, Superintendent of Mississippi Department of Education for nearly a decade shows that when those in the top job stay in office longer our students can see lasting improvement. Under Dr. Wright, Mississippi 4th graders in 2013 went from reading more than one full grade level behind the national average on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) to in 2019, Mississippi 4th graders scored higher than the nation’s public school average in mathematics, tied the nation in reading and ranked No. 1 in the nation for making the largest score gains. The impact of consistent leadership on student outcomes provides a starting point for how we work to improve student achievement as results from PISA, NAEP and other student assessments following the pandemic years are analyzed. #WomenLeadingEd

NonProfit Organization WATER || HEALTHCARE || EDUCATION || EMPOWERMENT. (W.H.E.E). Together WE can make WHEE a reality!
The importance of quality education in effecting transformation in the lives of children at grassroots communities cannot be overemphasized. And more than stating the importance and identifying workable solutions to curb the problems surrounding quality education in these areas, It's expedient to implement these solutions to get the change we seek. At THE SUNDAY BASIL AGBA LEGACY FOUNDATION, under our 3rd support pillar- education, one we hold dearly, we have the Change Agents Leadership And Lifetime Scholarship Program(CALLS) that focuses not just on providing quality education and STEM lessons to our beneficiaries but also opening them up to mentorship programs and building good leadership skills in them. It is said that children are leaders of tomorrow, and now is the time to start building the tomorrow we want by investing in quality education as education facilitates nation-building. The pictures attached are from our last CALLS Qualification Examination. You can partner with us to sponsor one or more kids, and can also join the #sbalfteam to support our cause. #education #ngoinnigeria #scholarship #transformation #change #impact #sbalf #leadership #building
