Living Room Makeover (Rental Edition)
The furniture that I currently bought for this place, I have plans to bring it along with me the next time. I am intending to stay here for quite a while and personally, I stay home a lot so having a pleasant looking environment is important to me as I do most of my content for GlowWithGrace at home.
Here’s what I got online for the living room:
I’m so happy it came in matching colours! They pre-assembled it and delivered it. I already know where I wanted to place them, so the delivery guys helped me to shift accordingly! Also very pleased the measurements fit, was crossing my fingers and toes 😂
✨ Also, slight detail but the brown handles kinda match the coffee table and sofa legs, so it looks more cohesive.
Ok it’s supposed to stick against the wall, but the wires is too heavy. Should have ordered a longer size. But it will make do!
I find this more convenient plus it makes a nice deco piece.
Got it in warm light for night use. You can choose between white light or having both:) I did get a handyman to install this for me but you could do it yourself too.
Wanted it to match the coffee table, but it didn’t. It looks good in contrast to the white cloth though. It’s a repurposed piece from my old place so I don’t have the link to the cloth. I like that it is flipped upwards. So don’t need to remove the tissue from the packaging, just stuff it in.
This beautiful piece is from Castlery, it’s my favourite item and I spend A LOT of time on it about 90% of the day HAHAHA there’s different sizes so see what fits your space. I got the extra leg rest so that it can serve as extra seating and it’s comfy to have movie nights too 🍿 Although it does take up space, I think it’s worth it.
The previous tenant one was really old and not spinning properly so I requested to change it. This one has warm and white lighting. I also installed this for both rooms.
This was the bigger table of the set that I used in the storeroom / study room. Easy to DIY install, just screw the legs on. Although I probably didn’t do it correctly in the beginning haha, cos one broke off when a friend tried to screw it tighter. I’m using big tape to hold it and it still works!
All about creating a movie experience at home so this is what I chose - a neutral colour.

This was the most expensive item, aside from the TV. (There was a TV provided but I shifted it into the bedroom but I don’t use it) the TV and sound bar is from prism, got it during their 11.11 sale. The size matches the space in between the wall, bigger than the original tv provided, and just a better overall experience when watching shows 🤪
Ok back to the floor cushion, it was $2.1k for living room + 2 bedroom including installation. The tiles was cold and this floor cushion is better for my dog when he stays over 🐕 There is more grip and he won’t slide around.
I got 2, one in beige and black. The beige one came badly damaged :( so I used this color instead. I originally wanted to use the black one for the kitchen. Hook using 3m command hook, easy to remove as well. I did manage to get a refund from the seller.

Fake floral
It felt a bit empty so I wanted to add some height. The bottles were repurposed from drinks I got from before. I can’t remember where I got these from 😅 but preserved flowers with vase is from Instagram, which I’ve shared in my previous post :)
Having all this ambience lighting helps with the “feeling feeling” 😂
If you guys are wondering about the old furnitures, I kept some and asked hdb to remove (they provide 3 free bulky removal a month if I remember correct) there’s a hotline you can call. The landlord was ok as long as I provided the essentials when moving out. I do have a back up sofa at my old place which is why I went ahead to get a new one.
