Description:

Ribes oxyacanthoides var. oxyacanthoides; foot of talus slope amongst large boulders in tall shrub/small tree cover, predominantly Acer spicatum, Corylus cornuta and Cornus rugosa; very simiar to R. hirtellum - some key ID features included: stamens as long as or only slightly longer than petals at anthesis; pubescent current and second year stems; floral bracts ciliate and glandular; older stems often bristly; spines present at leaf nodes; abundant glands on abaxial leaf surface (on and between veins) but also present on upper leaf surface (Flora of North America www.efloras.org/ was used to determine variety)
